Everything ready for the start of the planning process
On Friday May 02 has formally begun the preliminary stage of the development of Public Use Plan and the implementation of the methodology Limits o Acceptable Change in Rapa Nui National Park.
These activities are part of the substantial support that the Provincial Chief CONAF Easter Island committed to the project known as "Bien Público Rapa Nui" As stated the project website, this "aims to develop a Strategic Plan for Ethnic - Cultural destinations, bearing eastern island as a pilot territory"
This is an external CONAF proyect, where the role of the institution is to support and promote a sustainable approach to tourism in this initiative, which especially considers the special characteristics of the Rapa Nui National Park in terms of the vulnerability of natural and cultural heritage.
